This past week I attended our photographer’s conference in New Jersey. Listening to the speakers and talking to my peers, I realized that I’m a portrait artist! Given the fact each portrait that I create controlling the lighting and capturing the personality of the subject, makes me proud to use the term “professional” photographer. It’s a constant learning process to hone your skills and that comes from belonging to organizations that share their craft with you.
I also am involved with teaching younger photographers the skill and business of photography. You’ll hear me talk about my other job being a workshop trustee at Hobart College, Geneva, NY through our workshop. (www.ppsnysworkshop.com) There are other local professional chapters in the area that welcome newcomers willing to learn and grow in becoming a true professional in the photography business. Contact me if you would like to know more about this topic. Have a great day till tomorrow…
